CommentThe Red-browed Finches are always quite difficult to photograph in my local area and they do not interact with people very often. I took time during a particularly dry month to observe them bathing of an evening in an isolated pool of water. It took patience and trust to get close enough to capture the detail, the closeness represents maybe a little more of their perspective of the world. I felt this image illustrated the local personality, even the shadow from the branch helped convey a usually shy nature. Some fill flash was used to help accentuate the detail and increase the shutter speed, personally this was a real learning curve to capture the image, having at the time just acquired the lens and flash.
