Gouldian Finch

Gouldian Finch (Image ID 40159)
CommentOn the few occasions I have seen Gouldians in the wild they have generally proved difficult to photograph because they are so active. This young black-headed male was part of a small party that we flushed on the roadside but instead of flying away they perched in a nearby tree long enough to get several images and a video. I chose this image because the plumage colours are so well developed.
