CommentThis image is all about the colour- colour of the background, the foreground and the bird. As there is no movement in this image I had to rely on something else to draw the viewers attention. The overall green tones in this image help to make the monotone colours of the little finch jump out of the image, giving it some visual impact
Had this little bird been in a busier setting the impact would not have been so forceful.
The bird is well focused and the plumage is well defined. I cropped the image giving the bird plenty of space in front and above, as I wanted to have a canvas on which to showcase the bird.
EquipmentCanon EOS 7D mark II ,Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM
1/640 sec @ f/7.1 Spot Metering ISO 800 focal length 30mm .Tripod. Raw file rendered in DPP 4 and transferred to Photoshop to adjust noise using Topaz DeNoise plug-in. Shadows and Levels were adjusted before downsizing and final sharpening before saving.
