CommentIt was a lucky break for me when the early morning sun broke through some clouds on an otherwise overcast day, as this brought out a soft but warm glow and allowed for good contrast without “blowing out” the blacks and whites and enabled sharp focus. I was also pleased with the pose the bird adopted – looking over his shoulder to check me out as well as to see if he was safe from the honeyeaters that had been harassing him as he came in for a drink in my backyard.
