CommentStarlings are so common it is easy to overlook the astonishing seasonal changes they display in their plumage. This is the first time I have noticed their fresh early autumn feathers, reminiscent of the downward arrows of prisoner garb. This newly dressed starling was part of a small flock that descended on the Royal Park Wetlands.
