Australasian Darter

Australasian Darter (Image ID 38945)
CommentDare to be different. Find something uncommon in the common. That is what I wanted to achieve in this image. The usual habitat of this bird is not depicted in this image. It is different, almost abstract. This background was created by the shadows under a nearby bridge. It contrasts beautifully not only with the bird but with the branch she is perched on. It gives it an almost ethereal feel. On a technical note I cloned out a small branch at the top of the birds right wing as it distracted from the composition.
