CommentFlooded grasslands after heavy overnight rain provided a smorgasbord for insectivorous birds. Hundreds of Whiskered Terns were hovering and swooping on drowning or hatching insects. Brolgas gorged themselves as they strode through the water. This is the most southerly extent of their range, but they are regularly seen here. These paddocks between the T-Section and Austin Road are usually dry in summer.
