Brown Thornbill

Brown Thornbill (Image ID 38864)
CommentThe muted colours of both the subject and its surroundings in this image reflect the visual unobtrusiveness of the Brown Thornbill in its natural environment. Nevertheless, at close range its scalloped brown forehead, reddish eye and black and white striated throat and chest contrast subtly with the green twigs of its Casuarina perch to make the bird stand out.
