CommentBreeding in Alaska in the months of June and July the Pacific Golden Plover winters along the coastline of Australia, where it can be found feeding on mudflats, when the tide is out. It is a quick runner, a frenetic feeder and a strong and fast flyer. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see this bird in its spectacular breeding plumage while in Australia, when it’s here during our Hot Season. Though a common sighting during our summer months in the Mandurah Estuaries, I have only seen it here alone or in pairs, though its said to be gregarious outside of its breeding season.
