Crested Pigeon

Crested Pigeon (Image ID 36807)
CommentI selected this shot as the behaviour displayed by the pair was similar to courtship. The male, I assume to be on the right, landed with tail high and waving. He then sidled up to his sweetheart and proceeded to scratch her head. The rapture on both of their faces says it all. In Morcombe's Field Guide to Australian Birds there is no distinguishing of male and female of the species so I have assumed the gender by behaviour.
