Australian Shelduck

Australian Shelduck (Image ID 36677)
CommentThis picture clearly shows the difference between male and female (white eye-ring). I've entered it as it shows the behaviour of the female who had been sitting on a nest and then joined the male at this small waterhole in the corner of a paddock. She joined the male for a while , did some preening before flying off again. The early light and attractive pose of the birds makes for a pleasing composition.
