Red-winged Parrot

Red-winged Parrot (Image ID 36554)
CommentI have selected this photo for submission into the competition because I like the balance of the composition where each parrot is perched on alternate sides of the stem, but both are looking towards the camera. I also like the fact that the photo captures clearly one of the main identifying features of the male parrot in its red wing patch and shows the difference in the plumage between the male and female of this species. The lighting whilst bright is not glaring and this particular perch allows for clear, non foliage obstructed views of the birds.
