Mulga Parrot

Mulga Parrot (Image ID 36538)
CommentI entered this photo as I was pleased with both the direction and strength of the early morning light as well as the posing positions of the birds in relation to each other. The engaging eye contact of both birds with me showed that they knew something was happening inside the close by portable bird hide where the camera shutter was making audible sounds, even though set on ‘silent shooting’. It was a bit of a lucky break for me that both birds were on the same focal plane, allowing good focus on both of them. I reckon they’re almost smiling for the camera.
