CommentUnfortunately this little guy was found dead on Lord Howe Island just a few days ago. It will more than likely be a first record for Australia. The experts are saying the measurements all point to this being a NZ Boobook. What a flight this guy/girl has had over 850nm of ocean. Not confirmed yet but he may have died due to eating poisoned mice as the Rodent eradication program is in full swing or just plain worn out. Once the REP is finished we will be able to reintroduce the Boobook that we are missing from Norfolk Island.
