House Sparrow

House Sparrow (Image ID 36027)
CommentWhile camping in Jindabyne several house sparrows spent time perched in trees behind our caravan. You don't often take too much notice of introduced birds, however, the sparrows were positioned in flowering fruit trees which added some nice background colour to the photo. The photo is hand held at 1/800 sec and as the light was quite good I set the aperture at f10 enabling a greater depth of field. This helped with clarity and detail and as the ISO was at 640 the noise level was fairly low. The bird was relaxed and used to the presence of humans which enabled a fairly close approach.
