Common Starling

Common Starling (Image ID 35984)
CommentThe most attractive feature of a starling is the iridescence in their plumage. Therefore my challenge was to try and get a shot where this was displayed, which meant good light. I also wanted the bird to be isolated against the background. I finally found a bird in this situation on a fence wire by a road in the Point Cook Coastal Park. Most of the other starlings that were there had flown because of the presence of my car, but this one stayed. I shot this from the car through an open window and I felt it met my criteria.
