The theme for the competition held in March-April 2019 was Bird On A Wire.  Although a wire is one of the least attractive of perches, nevertheless a bird, or several birds, perched on a fence wire or powerline is a commonplace scene throughout most of the land.  For this competition, we invite you to submit an image showing this.  Some of our larger birds, in particular raptors, are too large to perch on a wire, and will use a fence post or power pole for their perch; we will accept such images, provided that the fence wire or power line is clearly visible.

The results of member voting for the top 5 images (or more, in the case of a tie) in each category are listed here.  The Winner is the image which received the most votes; and we also show the next four highest placed images, rating them as Highly Commended if they received at least 90% of the votes for the winning image, and Commended for scores less than that.
