CommentThis bird was one of 12 that flew in to one of the watering points at Gluepot Reserve. It was late evening and I used fill flash, which scared the bird. The second shot I got was this one. It shows what I believe a reactive defence mode to scare off anything that comes close.
EquipmentCamera: Nikon D800; Lens: Nikkor 80.0-400.0, f/4.5-5.6, AFS, G, ED
Tripod at 400mm, ISO 2500, 1/1600th sec at f/8. Fill flash at -1 ev. Background blurred, darkened and made greener in photoshop. Grain on bird reduced.
