This species was misidentified as Wandering Tattler x2, Great Knot x1

The Grey-tailed Tattler is distinguishable from the Wandering Tattler by the Supercilium. On the Grey-tailed Tattler, the white Supercilium continues behind the eye. On the Wandering Tattler, the Supercilium appears to stop at the eye, and does not continue behind it.

The Grey-tailed Tattler is distinguishable from the Great Knot by overall plumage. The Grey-tailed Tattler is a plain bird, whereas the Great Knot is streaky.

- Dark loral stripe

- Bright yellow feet
