CommentAnother shot with the angle finder on my camera eyepiece. The bird has been named 'Ripper' and lives in one of the ponds at Tidbinbilla where he terrorises the other ducks and waterbirds. They all keep their distance and when he dives, any bird nearby knows to take flight immediately to avoid getting bitten from underneath. Makes for good flight photo opportunities as its easy to predict which birds might fly next based on where 'Ripper' is an what he's doing.
EquipmentCanon 80D with EF 100-400mm Mark 2, handheld at 400
1/640 sec, f7.1, ISO 1600.
Initially processed in Canon DPP 4 to crop, adjust exposure and lighting and perform noise reduction. A 16 bit TIFF file was created from the RAW DPP image and finished in PSE (Adobe Photoshop Elements v9) where further noise reduction was applied to the main subject using Neat Image plugin for PSE. The background was noise reduced and the main subject sharpened after resizing for upload.
LocationThe Sanctuary, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve (Australian Capital Territory)
