Shining Flycatcher

Shining Flycatcher
CommentThe plumage of the male Myiagra alecto is black, but when caught in the light it has a striking metallic blue sheen, giving rise to its common name, "shining" flycatcher. Water droplets clinging to the feathers after a dip in the river further enhance the dazzle of this little gem of a bird.
