Splendid Fairy-wren

Splendid Fairy-wren
CommentThis Splendid Wren (sub species musgravi) was one of a small group inhabiting the bush just off the track to the top of Mount Gillen (behind “Flynn’s Grave”) in Alice Springs. I entered this photo in the Being Blue competition as the adult male bird was showing off his beautiful breeding plumage while at the same time fluffing himself up to maximise the display.
