Grey Plover

Grey Plover
CommentI admire these birds immensely because of there unbelievable migration each year across an increasingly hostile environment. I photographed this bird strolling along busy Sandgate Beach on a weekend. Despite the people, the dogs running loose on the beach and bicycles traveling along the nearby bikeway, this bird continued to feed on the beach just below the rock wall. This allowed me to get in a good position to get some nice sharp images. I like this image because of the bird's "poise" and it illustrates the bird in its natural environment.
