Rufous Bristlebird

Rufous Bristlebird
Resolution:1100x778
ID:28048
Comment:These birds must be related to the Road-runner. We spent hours taking photos of streaky tails disappearing stage left with the body long gone. We finally staked out a driveway where the Bristlebirds were crossing between garden beds and I was very lucky to catch this bird during a short pause. It was only when looking at the photos that I could appreciate the stunning scalloping over the breast, and glossy, rufous feathers. A tick for me and a very satisfying day with wonderful friends.
