Comment:Great Knot doing wing stretch. Note WHITE rump. One of between 60 and 70 Great Knots. These birds have been backed up quite close to the Cairns Esplanade boardwalk by a rising tide. The flock flew off shortly after this image was taken, possibly to a high tide roost closer to the airport.
