White-faced Heron

White-faced Heron
Comment:For this competition, I have chosen a very different urban landscape – an Outback town backyard. Houses blocks coalesce the river, which is the ‘life blood’ in the Outback. This old wooden weir is propped-up by stone randomly laid where the wooden barrier has collapsed; the stones also form feeding ponds for numerous waterbird species; the rusty line in the background is the pump pipe that provides the town with water for the backyard and for drinking after filtration. Truly a most versatile ‘backyard’ for the town.
