Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo

Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo
Resolution:1250x927
ID:27261
Comment:The White Cedar/ Cape Lilacs from the north and east coasts of Australia were brought to southern WA as a garden tree, and are found in many local back yards. The berries a great favourite with the Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, and they make return visits to the trees until all the berries are gone. This was taken on an overcast morning, across the road from my home. This pair were adorable as the female joined her mate to share his food, even taking a berry right out of his beak.
