Black-fronted Dotterel

Black-fronted Dotterel
Photographed byGunther Frensch on Sun 13th Aug, 2017 and uploaded on Thu 7th Sep, 2017 .
CommentTook this photo at sunrise. The orange colour is from the sun reflecting off reeds. The bird was in the shade. The lack of light meant a high ISO was needed. Although the bird was in focus I felt the image wasn't sharp. I would like comment on cropping (I like the orange background and wanted to include that plus a little of the environment) and post processing. Photoshop Camera Raw was used to process the Raw Image, Macphun Noiseless CK used on background only to remove noise, Photoshop used to sharpen bird and levels used finish image. Smart Sharpen at 70 used after photo was reduced from 3000px to 1400px. This was a photo I would like to include in the new gallery but as requested by the committee, photos by newer members are to go through the critique gallery first. It is my favourite photo, I have taken of this bird. Unsure if male or female.
