Silver Gull

Silver Gull
Comment:After considerable internal debate I decided to submit this photo because it provides an unusual perspective on the theme. The morning sun was breaking through the fog over the lake when this Silver Gull came in to land on a floating swimming platform in the lake. The M of the steel bars (which are at the top of the access steps) blends with the grey and white of the gull, while the red legs and beak provide a small point of colour in the otherwise monochrome scene. The water of the lake can just be seen through the foggy background. A slight vignette has been applied to frame the scene.
