Eurasian Coot

Eurasian Coot
Photographed byCon Boekel on Tue 18th Jul, 2017 and uploaded on Tue 11th Jul, 2017 .
CommentThis one involved cropping a diving Eurasian Coot down to one of its feet, the reflections of the foot, and also the way the water distorted that part of the foot that was under water. I am so enjoying the opportunity to use photography to capture the infinity of light variations that water generates.
This image also reminds me strongly (and satisfyingly) of John Olsen's surrealistic paintings. In fact I changed hue and light settings to morph the image in Olsen's direction.
