Comment:Red Knot, Curlew Sandpipers and Red-necked Stints were among a small flock of over-wintering migratory waders roosting at high tide on a sandbar. Several Curlew Sandpipers and Knots showed some breeding plumage. Here the flock was alerted by a passing raptor, after which they returned to snoozing with their heads tucked under their wings.
Equipment:Canon EOS 7D MkII + 300mm f/2.8L MkII + 1.4x MkIII extender, monopod.
Manual, spot metering, f/6.3, 1/ 640 sec, ISO 800.
Processed with DPP4 & Photoshop Elements 15 with Neat Image 8.2.
