I had the great fortune to cross paths with Gary King (and bird with him) in a number of places in the NT and WA recently and he recommended I should join BLP. I had actually been considering this as I am relatively new to both photography and more particularly bird photography which I am really enjoying (my wife would say that it has become an obsession), and am sure through membership the quality of my images should improve. So I am looking forward to involvement in the group.

Welcome to BLP Barry, I hope you find what you are looking for here. I see you are off to a good start by posting a very nice image to the Critique Gallery. The Critique Gallery is especially useful for new members who might have been a bit insular in their bird photography and would like some feedback, encouragement or assurance that they are on the right track. There are other resources I encourage you to use, such as asking questions and contributing to this Forum, and the back-issues of the BLP Newsletters are a great place to discover answers to technical questions and to read expert reviews of photos entered in our competitions.
